Our teaching methods

Since the beginning of this school year, the teaching staff and students have drawn up a contract for living together, so that everyone can achieve their full potential in our school.

The school can count on motivated, enthusiastic teams of teachers and staff who listen to each and every student.

Cohesion and continuity

Strategies and bridges ensure the cohesion and continuity of our teaching.

  • Regular consultations between members of the teaching team,
  • Ongoing collaborative work,
  • Collaborative work with the school’s CPMS,
  • Work in learning cycles,
  • Children in difficulty are supported by differentiated teaching methods and/or the implementation of reasonable accommodations,
  • Individual, well-thought-out remedial action is taken when a pupil encounters difficulties,
  • FLA (Français Langue d’Apprentissage) teaching to support children in their learning,
  • In line with the new curricula and reference frameworks, learning and knowledge are regularly readjusted so that the child can relate them from one year to the next (common core),
  • The reference systems (books and notebooks) are evolving. Within a cycle, there is a need to ensure continuity,
  • Information sessions for the transition to elementary school, as well as secondary school,
  • Three class councils punctuate the school year, enabling us to keep a close eye on each child’s progress and take appropriate action.

Communication

Strategies are also put in place to foster communication with parents

  • Use of a CLASSDOJO application for all classes to facilitate communication between parents and teachers. On a daily basis, teachers post photos and/or videos, notices and information to keep in touch easily.
  • The secretary’s office is available every day of the week. By e-mail: secretariat.deswaef@arldv.com or by telephone: 02 669 17 50 – 0498 70 26 46
  • The educator is also available every day of the week. By e-mail: educateur.deswaef@arldv.com
  • Appointments can be made at any time of the day.
  • A Facebook page ARLDV De Swaef is available to everyone.
